Things Are Really Going Great This Time

I am not sure why I have to always figure things out the second time around, but I guess that is just one of my failings.  I bought the Every Other Day Diet over a year ago and floundered around with it.

I just didn't take it seriously and kept telling myself the tomorrow I would start in earnest--ha!

Finally I got tired of carrying around 50 extra pounds and I went on the hCG diet.  It was pretty brutal, but I lost a lot of weight because I didn't cheat at all.

After losing the weight I gained about 10 pounds back and was in a panic.  That is when I thought of the Every Other Day Diet and why I had bought it in the first place.  I hate the trapped feeling that diets give me!

This time I sat down with my wife and we read through the Every Other Day Diet and took notes so that I could get the measurements exactly right.

I am down 5 pounds this week! And I have gone out to eat with my wife twice.  Awesome!  It should be noted that I am also jogging 2 miles a day for at least 5 days a week.  So that allows me to lose more.

I am looking forward to next week to see how this calorie shifting will work against plateauing.  In the past, the second week is where I usually hit a plateau.

I'll post here again next week.

Thanks Jon and all of those who worked to make this diet possible.

Paul

Update:  To borrow a phrase from Micky D's "I'm lobin' it".  Due to my work I had to take my wifew out to eat last night for Valentines Day.  Lucky for my I am on the Every Other Day Diet because I took her to Carraba's Italian Grill and I had stuffed ravioli.  Fantastic!  We had special red velvet cup cakes for desert and I woke up this morning and had lost 1/2 pound.

Plan it right and the Every Other Day Diet can let you really enjoy eating while still losing weight.

I am a fan!

Great to read your story Paul - I'm sure you're not alone feeling trapped in traditional diets. EODD is, I agree, a stroke of genius and a plan that works because it has so many options and possibilities that will fit any of life's situations.

Go on vacation - use the primer plan.

At home, be stricter.

Keep it up, and keep us posted!

Merry Christmas - you just gave yourself a great gift!

as far as micro/macro nutrients are concerned I think that what is really important is to have a diet that has a wide range of food items.. It is so easy to restrict your diet to include only the "healthiest" items.. However I believe that…

Hm, you saying we getting old? (my grammar teacher would shudder at that sentence, lol) But yes, you're right about getting wiser with age/ life perspective.

The more you see or read, you realize that you can find proponents of nearly every thinkable diet, with emphasis on nearly every macro/micro nutrient there is. And the more you come full circle, you start to think that maybe, just maybe, my…

I agree - I've done the Atkins thing even (shuddering in horror). Actually, a moderated Atkins is not a bad thing. Montignac is probably on the right track with his plan - only he suggests lobster, foie gras and caviar as staple foods, and…

I've managed with cats no problem :) well ok, with problems, but never this extreme :) have to use ruse with cats. But if the cat trusts you, it'll let you medicate it. Cats are just too smart to just take your word for it, they want to…

Probably, only tried it with a dog, hard enough! Can imagine how the hard headed nature of a cat will make this impossible!
