To Nicole Thank you!!! To Tom, Meredith, and Sarah not such a warm welcome. First i am brand new at this I couldn't tell you where the Discussion section is if my life depended on it! Second, sorry for commenting and asking questions in the Blog section I didn't realize I couldn't do that. You guys may be seasoned vets, I am just trying to navigate my way round. I am very frustrated with this diet to begin with. I can't get my questions answered it's not just a SNAPP at all as a matter of fact it seems more limited then other diets I have been on, at least Weight Watchers you have a variety of somewhat normal foods. How do I get my required protein per meal when one meal is just apples? Where and when do you even get calcium seeing it looks like it is a dairy restricted diet UGHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Not liking this and can someone tell me where I should be writing all this before I get scolded again. Thanks.

No scolding intended, just trying to steer you to the right place for the quickest answers. If you are referring to EODD, try the EODD forum :)

Calcium is pre3sent in so much more than just dairy- the dairy producers/farmers have been filling our ears and heads with this "no dairy no calcium" lie for decades, but it's just that, a lie. In fact, dairy calcium isn't even that bio-available, but that's a different discussion.

There is calcium in green veggies, in many bottled waters, calcium enriched rice- almond- soy milk ... no danger at all. Also, strength training helps reinforce bones.

As far as boredom, there is so much variety possible at dinner time, that I haven't noticed any sign of boredom in almost 3 years. Shakes can easily be varied (with an egg-breakfast once in a while too), nuts can be interchanged, apples - there are so many varieties you can change taste at least once a day for a month, and put in a pear here and there as well.

Which plan are you trying to follow? If you are worried about boredom, maybe start with Primer or Lifestyle 1. How else can we help you get this to work for you?

Thank you both for the help. I'm sorry didn't mean to come off cranky. I'm just very frustrated with the whole thing, not really connecting well with this snapp day I almost think i'll get tired of it quickly. I will post in the forum section just wanted to post here to make sure you both saw it. Again, thanks for the help.

No scolding from me either, sorry if you felt it that way. It's just that if the blog is constantly filled up with questions, which have already been answered in the Forums, over time the blog will lose its' appeal to other users. Forum / Discussion section, just different words for the same. Look at the toolbar, on the frontpage, second line from the top, with buttons you can click, starting with MAIN, INVITE and so on. Meredith has answered your other questions. As for varity the apple can be substituted for other fruits, but go for the fibrous low/slow sugar types, to avoid insulin spikes from quickly release fructose (sugar in fruit). A good alternative is pears. Keep asking, but remember to click the Forum tab, and then the EODD tab! Good luck!

Sorry to sound snappy - I am just trying to answer lots of questions and make sure we actually get answers to those looking fo them (that's what the smiley :-) was for, I was not scolding just trying to suggest how to make sure you get answers.) To post a discussion just click Quick Add Discussion instead of Quick add Blog Post - not much of a difference except in how it is routed on the site.

Your required protein comes in the shake and at the protein feeding. That is the minimum. You can add an optional protein feeding at the lunch time of burn days if you want (ie. you have an active lifestyle, you are trying to gain muscle or you are finding you are hungry on burn days)

Calcium is abundant in other foods than just dairy (even vegans can get enough) Calcium:
Everyone thinks you need to drink milk to get calcium, but cows, horses, gorillas, and elephants, some of the world’s strongest and most powerful animals, all have built their big strong bones on a vegetarian diet. Plant based calcium sources are easier to digest, and you don’t have to worry about being lactose intolerant when you eat plant based calcium sources. The BEST non-dairy sources of calcium are fortified beverages (such as soymilk and orange juice) and dark, leafy greens like kale and broccoli. Other foods like legumes and almonds can give you calcium. You can also read this post for more info: http://www.jonbensonfitness.com/forum/topics/cows-milk-dairy?commen.... And you can use dairy in your shake as the liquid if it suits you and you can eat all the dairy you want at your feed meal.

Since Wheat and dairy are two of the most commonly overlooked food allergies in our population, many people, despite being reticient at the beginning, feel much better once they have been using SNAPP for a little while.
