HI = High Intensity

Workout - 24 minutes
5 minute warmup on exercise bike at level 2 resistance. Just waking up the muscles.

Tabata protocol. 4 exercises. Following the coach's advice I'm going for a minimum number of reps per work period and increasing that number every workout or three depending on the exercise.
1. Mountain climbers - 5 reps/work period. Go to 6 next workout.
2. Reactive Jumps (think plyometrics) - 3 reps/work period. Knees to chest. Stay at 3 for next workout.
3. Leg Swoops - 2 reps/work period. I can only fit in a max of 4 in a 20 second work period anyway. Stay at 2 next workout.
4. Quad Quats - 5 reps/work period. Go to 6 next workout.

Great workout. Felt full of energy and the time just flew by.

Tomorrow is joint mobility day - about 10 minutes working all the joints. BER calls is Intu-flow. I'll do that in my classroom in the morning (carpeted floor no less) and ride the bike home after school. Weather should be clear and low 20s right through the weekend.

Nutrition
Breakfast
PB sandwich and tea. I will be making a trip for real cheese this weekend. Meredith is right, cheese slices are just not worth eating.

Lunch
1C rice + 6 chicken nuggets (oops) + 2 pieces baked fish (about 3/4 my palm each) + 5 or 6C water.

Snack
Smoothie

Dinner
Fillet of mackerel + Sweet and Sour Broccoli (Men's Health online recipe finder) + 4 or 6 C water.

Thanks Tom. Yeah, it's all that and I also really enjoy doing it. The bike ride home is along the Han river and the last 1/4 leg along a tributary. Really nice ride except for when there's a headwind off the river. That can add 20 - 30 minutes to the ride.

Nuggets - I know I know, but I'm still within my 80 - 85% compliance.

Not exactly sure which fish they use here - I'll ask next time.

At home we eat salmon (poached or raw) 3 times every 2 weeks and mackerel (pan fried with no oil - the fish has enough) also 3 times every 2 weeks. We just toss the frozen mackerel fillet on the pan over a medium-low heat. As the fish thaws it also releases oil and cooks in its own oils. Pretty standard method in Korea. On Tuesdays and Thursdays we eat chicken. In all cases we eat more or less 100g of fish/chicken each meal. Weekends are less regimented and we eat more Korean style. I think it's a good mix.

Just looked at today's lunch menu - tuna and kimchi stew with steamed tofu and rice. This is another lunch that I really enjoy. I'll also have kimchi on the side to have with the tofu. Warm kimchi and tofu is actually anjou here. Anjou is food that is eaten with beer (okay, any alcohol) in Korean bars. If you like somewhat spicy food it's absolutely delicious. It's especially good on a cold winter afternoon after coming back down from a mountain hike. And together with dong dong ju (kind of rough wine made from rice. Has a milky appearance.).....oh my! Sometimes I ask Soon-Jin to make it on the weekends.

Sounds like a good workout programme you've got going there. Focus on burning some calories, with the added benefit of increase in lean muscle mass and afterburn. Good fish choice, with loads of healthy fish oil. Chicken nuggets, ahemmmm, need I say more? Keep it up anyway you're doing fine.

Nah, didn't take before pics. Suppose i could do that this weekend. Not gonna be a big difference anyway.
I'm trying to be less...fastidious....about things. I do have a written log - made a form on Word - but about the only thing I can do with Excel is spell it right 3 out of 5 tries.
Posted will be easy, but to save time in the evenings, I think I'll post in the mornings when I arrive at school. I have more time there. Soon-Jin doesn't like it when I'm on the computer. She gets home around 7:30, dinner, cleanup and prep for the next day and we go to bed at 10, so she's kinda jealous of that time.
The broccoli dish didn't work out quite as expected. I'm going to double the garlic and oregano and leave out the juice from the tomatoes next time and see what happens. I like my food to have fairly strong flavours, and this one was kinda washed out for me.
Soon-Jin wants to go to Costco next weekend since we have to buy more chicken anyway. This weekend she's going to the hospital to visit her niece. I have a bit of work to do due to it being the end of the quarter, so I might beg off going if I can and make a trip to Costco for the cheese while she's gone. Only thing is can I resist the chicken bakes if I'm there all by my little lonesome???

oops? Lol.

Yep, you're back :)

Hope you took "before" pics? Not too late I guess. And ... no, knowing you, all stats are written down and ready on excel to get graphs as you progress, lol.

Keep us posted, and good luck on the real-cheese hunt.
