: : Information and Trainer Support For All Jon Benson Products : :

I believe that every now and then we all need to be held accountable for reaching our goals. The upcoming season I believe could very well be one of those times, when an extra effort is needed to avoid a full month of overeating and sabotaging our goals.

My goal is to enter 2012 leaner and in better shape than I was in 2011. To that end I have joined a Holiday Challenge hosted by Tom Venuto. The support community there is quite extensive and very international too. But the point I am making here, is that social support and accountability often is the last piece of the puzzle, that will complete the picture. I know it will work, I have tried it here as well, there is nothing like publicizing your goals to increase accountability.

At the moment I am already 2lbs and 1% bodyfat down, so everything is working according to plan. Only time will tell how much damage the Christmast dinner and luncheons will do, but after all it is only 2 meals, which can only do so much damage if managed well.

So how about 2012? Any new year's resolutions? Not from me, I will continue to improve my physique, helped by my increased knowledge about what works for me. Both from a training perspective, but certainly also from a nutrional perspective. Nutrition will be a focal point for me, I know for certain that improvements in my nutrition schedule and principles will unlock the greatest potential for me. After 4-5 years in fitness I have seen and tried many different training programs. And most of them deliver results, its a matter of choosing a program that suits your needs and goals.

So from all of me to all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

as far as micro/macro nutrients are concerned I think that what is really important is to have a diet that has a wide range of food items.. It is so easy to restrict your diet to include only the "healthiest" items.. However I believe that…

I am trying the eat don't eat (Brad Pilon) diet.. not having a breakfast and having a normal lunch dinner and a snack at night and it seems to be working great.. Except I felt a bit weak when I trained (note: I didn't work out) this…

Hm, you saying we getting old? (my grammar teacher would shudder at that sentence, lol) But yes, you're right about getting wiser with age/ life perspective.

The more you see or read, you realize that you can find proponents of nearly every thinkable diet, with emphasis on nearly every macro/micro nutrient there is. And the more you come full circle, you start to think that maybe, just maybe, my…

I agree - I've done the Atkins thing even (shuddering in horror). Actually, a moderated Atkins is not a bad thing. Montignac is probably on the right track with his plan - only he suggests lobster, foie gras and caviar as staple foods, and…

I've managed with cats no problem :) well ok, with problems, but never this extreme :) have to use ruse with cats. But if the cat trusts you, it'll let you medicate it. Cats are just too smart to just take your word for it, they want to…

I have trouble viewing the YouTube clips because it's all "skippy" but I was watching the 10-point-plan and wrote down the 10 points - not that they are anything new to us JBFers, but still, always good to get a refresher course :) I…

Probably, only tried it with a dog, hard enough! Can imagine how the hard headed nature of a cat will make this impossible!

or if it tastes good spit it out of your mouth ;).. He was a bit extreme and, like everyone a prisoner of his time.. he espoused a low fat diet - didn't eat many egg yolks, etc.    but so what.I love the battlefield analogy..He was…

He was a great role model for many, and I have a T-shirt with a quote of his on it :) it's getting old and the letters are peeling a bit, but I'm not throwing it away! That little phrase ahs helped me for 6 years and I'm sure it will…
