Listen up:

No more playing around.

No more excuses.

No more "next week".

No more tomorrows.

And, above all, no more WISHING.

Wishing is for babies and those stuck in the quagmire of mystical B.S.

The successful do not wish. They TAKE.

Boy, this is really some way to begin my personal blog, isn't it? I sound like quite the hard-ass, eh?

Well, get ready... : )

Before I elaborate on "taking", I want to let you all know how much I admire and appreciate you. You have taken action. You've signed up for this support site. You gave Jan and I the honor of buying our book and trusting us with your weight loss and wellness goals.

Thank you so much. I endeavor to never let you down, as does Jan.

Jan and I are very different in how we approach things, while at the same time being extremely like-minded when it comes to fitness and nutrition. Why else would we co-author a book? : )

So, I hope our differences (which, by the way, is a GOOD thing...I admire her greatly, and our differences actually compliment one another) will become a point of interest to you all.

That being said, let me "warn" you (ha) about what to expect from my blog. In this, Jan and I are much alike! --

Raw.

Uncensored honesty.

Transparency.

These three things are rarely seen in the fitness world. Most fitness pros are too cautious. They want their audience to think they are 'perfect'. Without flaws. Without struggles.

What a crock!

Truly, most fitness pros who write books are worse than politicians. They say exactly what they know you want to hear rather than speaking the truth.

Now, you can "speak the truth in love", and I endeavor to do that always. But some truths are harder to hear than others.

Today's blog -- my first on EODD (although I've been blogging for years) -- is hard to hear. But it's necessary. Crucial. Vital to your progress.

You have to take what you want.

So, you've struggled with your weight loss? Perhaps you've been a bit lax about going to the gym? There's one underlying reason that is a common thread between us all:

You have not taken what is rightfully yours.

Perhaps you've expected to receive it, as you would a present or a birthright. Perhaps you have been caught up in wishing it were so. Wishing leads to "diet junkie syndrome". Buying one book after another, 'wishing' and 'hoping' it will contain the magical answer.

Well folks, there is no magical answer. Sorry.

You have to TAKE what you desire. Period.

Wanting is not enough. Dreaming, wishing, praying, hoping -- all good things, but not enough.

Again: You must TAKE IT.

Here's how you start:

Picture life as a buffet. Have you 'ever' been to a quality buffet that actually ran out of food? No way. All quality buffets prepare more than enough food for everyone. You could literally go back for seconds, thirds, and fourths if you so desired.

But so many of us approach the buffet of LIFE with a beggar's mentality. We take a few scraps perhaps, then run off and complain about being hungry. We watch as others take all they desire and judge them for being "greedy" -- all along knowing inn our hearts that there is PLENTY OF FOOD left for anyone who wants it.

The universe is simply too big. You can, and should, take what you need. Take what you want. Take MORE than you want and then GIVE the extra to others who, perhaps, are afraid to take for themselves. That is a noble thing.

But you cannot "out-give God", as my former pastor would say. It's impossible.

I am not here to teach you 'how' to take -- how to balance this with your personal moral and spiritual lives. But I will say this: You cannot take with a mindset of greed.

Greed makes the food in the buffet of life taste bland.

Take all you want, but always with a mindset of using it fully and sharing the rest with others. They, in turn, will learn to take -- and guess what? The buffet of life will simply produce MORE FOOD.

Make sense?

When it comes to weight loss my friends, you can set all the goals you want. You can read all the books (even truly GREAT books like ours! : ), you can hire all the trainers in the world, and you can try every motivational trick in the book.

But you still have to have the mindset of a warrior to succeed. End of story. No exceptions.

Warriors TAKE. Virtuous warriors take only what is rightfully theirs. They do not horde. They do not steal.

There is a difference.

Be a virtuous warrior when it comes to fitness and weight loss. Set your goals...then TAKE IT. Buy the proper food, then TAKE IT.

Today, say "NO MORE" to the mindset of lack, wishing, and daydreaming. Say "YES" to the mindset of a virtuous warrior...and take what is rightfully yours.

A healthy body. A healthy mind. Love, peace, power, and grace.

They are all yours for the taking...but no one, including the universe, will give them to you freely.

Jan and I provided some great tools for you. These tools do nothing but empower you with HOW to take. Only you can provide the 'why'. Only you can do whatever it takes to make it happen.

So, see the buffet of life in front of you. Get in line. Do it today.

And take what is yours.

Then take a little more and give it to others.

Last thought:

I wrote today, "You get what you embrace, not what you merely touch."

Stop "touching" on a healthy body. Start embracing it. Fall in love with your true self, your ultimate potential, and all the buffet of life is ready to offer you.

Embrace it. Take it. Share it, by all means.

Then enjoy every fleeting moment, for this life is very brief.

Love that blog post. Just what I needed. I am only on day 7 and having a hard time, getting to the post cardio workout close to midnight on a few nights and wanting to cut something out in order to get my sleep. Has been a rough going with taking care of sick family. But after reading your post, I know this will not last and that I can do it exactly as written. If you want to achieve extraordinary results (getting LEAN fast for me) you must do extra ordinary things. To me right now it means staying up to do the last cardio and shoving down that last post cardio snack. Now-I CAN DO IT!!! Thanks Jon.

You wrote this .. almost 2 years ago, and I read it then.

I just re-read it now.

In my opinion, we should all read this post at least once a month!

Yes, I know the content to be true.
Yes, I've read it and nodded, agreed that I would ...

And yes, I've slacked off and become complacent.

Not because it was too hard to do, not at all. I've taken all right! Taken and shared I might add.

The trouble is, taking and sharing becomes so "normal" I stop thinking about it, I just do it, till I don't because ... why? Do I forget? Is it the "auto-pilot" that stops working?

No, I think we need to be conscious of being taking warriors!

Know what we take, how much, why, and who we share with.

I'm glad I read this again tonight.

Once again Jon, thank you for being you!

Hey Jon, i recently purchased the 7mm book and and the Eodd, i was so motivated after reading both and i have started applying the eodd snapp in my life as per 2 days back. I have also started exercising(something that i never do my whole life), I do the morning gxp cardio as per suggested and then after that i have my first serving of the morning shake rite before i go to the gym and do my weight training.
But what I still dont know is:
1. How long before cardio can I have my feeding and how long after my cardio can i have my feeding?
2. How long before weight training can i have my feeding and how long after my feeding can i have my meal?
I am really serious about loosing all the body fat i carry, as I am just to unhappy with it, and because of that i have realized that my confidence has dropped to 0 or probably minus rite now on how the way i look

I am still new to all this, Its just after reading your books that I have found hope for a better health and body. I hope to always be able to ask you questions when ever I am in doubt.
you can email me the answer to this at tej_nanwani@yahoo.com

Sheryl, I answered this one today -- but just in case the answer is yes. Just go to http://www.7minutemuscle.com/oto.php and you'll see a "No Thanks, Just 7 Minute Muscle" button at the bottom of the page. Thanks!

Like I said, you'll have to ask Jon; but I highly recommend 7MM, it's tough, simple and effective! I'm looking forward to doing 1 Rep Fitness for 12 weeks now, but I know I'm back on 7MM/EODD in June-August again!

Sarah - is there a way to purchase 7MM w/o the EEOD book (that I already purchased)??? Or, am I an idiot and the 7MM was with the EEOD e-book???? Guess I better go look!!!! Have a great weekend - Warrior Princess Zena!!! Take care, Sherry

Wow! What a wake up call. Truth be told, you have to grab the ring in order to own it. Thanks for the post. I'm a newbie here, and I needed to hear that.
