Hm, you saying we getting old? (my grammar teacher would shudder at that sentence, lol) But yes, you're right about getting wiser with age/ life perspective.

I agree - I've done the Atkins thing even (shuddering in horror). Actually, a moderated Atkins is not a bad thing. Montignac is probably on the right track with his plan - only he suggests lobster, foie gras and caviar as staple foods, and…

I've managed with cats no problem :) well ok, with problems, but never this extreme :) have to use ruse with cats. But if the cat trusts you, it'll let you medicate it. Cats are just too smart to just take your word for it, they want to…

I have trouble viewing the YouTube clips because it's all "skippy" but I was watching the 10-point-plan and wrote down the 10 points - not that they are anything new to us JBFers, but still, always good to get a refresher course :) I…

My Greatest Fitness Challenge is...
Not going back up over 15% BF!

Good thing I have EODD/7MM, M-Power and the occasional RFLB to keep me where I want to be.
Hometown:
Trenton, Ontario (Canada)
Relationship Status:
Engaged
About Me:
Personal trainer, website trainer, fitness web site co-owner, fitness e-book writer, fitness e-book co-producer, and also in-you-home training instructor as well as Jon Benson Fitness coach - where did you get the idea I was into fitness??!??

I also need to have animals around me, two cats right now as well as two new birds and a few tropical fish, but I've had goats (13), sheep (4, dumbest animals I ever had), rabbits, guinea-pigs (that was the kids), and I feed the wild birds outside in the winter.

Spending quality time with good friends, travels, home cozy-evenings, family time, observing traditions while making the foods more healthy ...

And photographing anything and everything, just check my albums ;-)
Favorite Music:
Almost anything, although some wails will have me change stations or turn the radio off altogether ...

Beatles, Shania Twain, Stones, Supertramp, Jethro Tull, Wham, Doobie Brothers, ZZ Top, CCR, Fleetwood Mac (for sure!), Gene Kelly (Singing in the Rain ... it's pouring tonight), Metallica, "Ole Blue Eyes" Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Pavarotti, Guns&Roses, AC/DC ... well, you get the idea?
Favorite TV Shows:
CSI (NY), 3½ men, The Big Bang Theory, The Biggest Loser, Criminal Minds, House at times ... and What Not to Wear is great for tips on how to dress too - they should just have more men on the show. And the new Miami Medical is cute too.

Of course, I PVR them all, so I miss all the stupid commercials and infomercials! Useless, and too loud!

And in the summer ... they all accumulate and don't get watched unless the weather is lousy.

Budding talent - my son (21)

This clip was filmed in our living room in July 2007

He's doing Waiting On An Angel by Ben Harper rather than something of his own because he has no copyright on any of it. Writes lyrics and music himself, and frankly it's not half bad. A bit dark at times, but pretty good. Certainly no worse than a lot of stuff that makes it to the radio.

Not exactly fitness related, although you need to be in shape for this, lol

I got a letter from dad today - he'd located a fun article in his archives he said, going on to say I might want to translate it (from Norwegian) ... I started reading, and was laughing so hard I was crying :)

See for yourselves (a tad long, but hilarious)

My first walk up Mount Pelio in Trenton

It's higher seen from the side you can't climb. Where I climbed from, the slope was fine and I did get a little winded, nothing major and will be improved rapidly. I went back down a different route than the up-route, because I wanted to see what the place looked like.

The whole trip from my front door, up the hill and back to the apartment took 30 minutes. Not much, especially considering I stopped to take a few photos also! In other words I have to add some streets to my…

Thanks!  I'm thinking about upgrading because I know as well as anybody that trainers need trainers too!  Thanks for the encouragement.  The six pack is a long term goal but a goal nonetheless!

as far as micro/macro nutrients are concerned I think that what is really important is to have a diet that has a wide range of food items.. It is so easy to restrict your diet to include only the "healthiest" items.. However I believe that…

The more you see or read, you realize that you can find proponents of nearly every thinkable diet, with emphasis on nearly every macro/micro nutrient there is. And the more you come full circle, you start to think that maybe, just maybe, my…
