Cardio and HIIT

Background: my maximum pulse rate is 180-185. (That's based on a VO2Max test by my doctor's office last October; I hit 180, and felt like I could keep going a few more seconds.)85% of 185 is 157.When doing 1 hour cardio (at a level equivalent to walking maybe 5.2 mph; that's maybe a little more than "brisk"), I can spend the last 30 minutes with my pulse above that. For those of us who start on days other than Monday, it would be helpful if the page titles had a day number (or week and day number). Unswallowed carbs

I've recently seen a number of studies indicating that rinsing one's mouth with a glucose solution (and not swallowing, so the amount absorbed is less than trivial) improves exercise performance. Brisk walking equivalents

What is the aerobic level of the brisk walking you recommend? (E.g. what percentage of max heartrate should I aim for? It's a lot easier for me to use machines with a pulse meter.)Also, would working more intensely for less time (same total number of calories burned) be about as good?See More
