Just bought eodd ebook, read it twice, still do not understand many things. Would like to try this diet cos it sounds like the right thing for me, but gosh...how???

1. Whey? What is it and where to get it? or soy protein?  How much of this to use in shakes as the recipes does not say? It says "protein". Shall I count it as normal protein measurement?

2. Recipes for breakfast. When to use those as the breakfast for snap is always shake?

3. Lunch recipes. When to use those? are they for a feed days? shouldn't we eat whatever we want on a feed days lunch as said?

4. What is DCC?

5. Why I could not find a lists of low-sugar fruits or produce in a book?

6. measuring carbs. Some recipes include tortilla. How do I know how much of this I can consume?

There is about 50 pages of some nutritional info on the ebook, appreciate it. But when it comes to what to eat and how much it's so unclear. Other diet book I read recently said exactly what to eat, the amount and when. Lists all the foods you allowed. I only found a little protein food list in eodd ebook. Hmmm,is it only me find it so complicated? Still want to try it though.

1. Whey or soy protein can be found at a health food or natural products store.  You want one without added carbohydrates (Stevia is the preferred sweetener although sometimes it is hard to find and you must resort to artificial sweetener)  You do your protein calculation for how many grams of protein you personally need per meal and then look at the package and figure out how many "scoops" or tablespoons of the powder you will need.

2, 3, & 4.  The recipies in the book are for use as your DCC meals.  Depending on the plan you are following, you are allowed 1 or 2 DCC's per week.  Basically they are meals with additional food choices outside of SNAPP but they are not "eat whatever" meals like a feed meal would be.  Use the DCC meals to sub breakfast for a shake, add lunch on a burn day, or sub dinner for the protein meal inthe evening. Yes, feed day lunches are whatever you want (but be sure to eat your apples 30 mins before and limit lunch time to 30 mins, not snacking all afternoon); you do not need to stick with these recipies at all for feed day lunches.

5. Here is the list of low-sugar fruits http://jonbensonforum.com/forum/topics/fruits-low-high-sugar  You can also find a lot more info on this website under the FAQ section (scroll down to the EODD and SNAPP secton): http://jonbensonforum.com/notes/Notes_Home

6. For the recipies, exact measurements are not necessary as you are using these recipies only for the DCC meals which only happen 1 or 2 times a week.  Just use one portion - ie. one tortilla - don't go wild.

The point of EODD is to allow you the flexibility to eat the foods you like within the framework of understanding the role that protein, carbs, fiberous veggies, fruit, and healthy fats play in your nutrition and weight loss efforts.  Your meals will look much different than mine which will also look much different than Sarah's or Tom's - because we all have access to different ingredients based on where we live, how much time we spend cooking, food allergies, and preferences.  If you need help with meal planning, or figuring out what to eat each day, you are welcome to post your planned meals or enter what you ate for the previous day and one of us will give you feedback about how your choices are fitting with the pronciples of EODD and SNAPP.

hello there, still not clear with DCC meals. I am about to follow plan 2 where two or three Feed meals are allowed per week.  When do choose DCC meal to substitute my normal SNAPP meal?

how much of liquid I am supposed to use to make 1 shake?? And could I use any produce in any amount with allowed carbs?

Yes, you can use any produce, but green ones are best. My standard morning shake is as follows:

1 handful of chopped apples

1 handful of chopped broccoli

1 cup of blueberries

1 serving protein powder

1 tbsp of seeds or nuts. At the moment pumpkin seeds.

Stevia to taste

Water added to give the thickness I like. I do like it thick and creamy so about 2 cups of water.

I some times vary the berries, some times broccoli is replaced by cellery stalks, etc..

Here's the basic shake recipe link: http://jonbensonforum.com/forum/topics/basic-shake-recipe

You need to watch out for high-sugar fruits and only use those in your shake on a feed day.  Here's the breakdown of how fruits fall in terms of sugar levels: http://jonbensonforum.com/forum/topics/fruits-low-high-sugar

I typically use 250 ml liquid (almond milk is the usual choice) for a scoop of protein powder (23-25 gr protein/scoop).

Add a handful of blueberries or mixed woodland berries, salba seeds (more nutritious than falx - also a little more expensive), an apple, a handful of baby spinach (organic, that's not too pricey) and sometimes I add half an avocado which adds good fat and makes the shake super creamy! When I don't use the avocado, I add a tablespoon of Udo's Choice oil.

In general the EODD is a calorie cycling lifestyle/diet, consisting of "burn" days, interspersed with pre-planned feed days, where you can enjoy your favourite foods in moderation and following a prescribed timing.

The plan allows for some measure of customization, including carb cycling and replacement foods to allow for vegetarians and other restrictions.

EODD is more a lifestyle than a diet, intended to be used for life. The only obstacle to using EODD will be if you hate apples or pears :-)

DCC meals can be used during the week 1-2 times as a substitute for any SNAPP meal. If one morning you would like a different meal than the shake, then use one of your DCCs to choose a recipe from the DCCs list or make up your own aiming for the same nutrient and calorie contents. I typically use one on a Sunday, where my family likes to have a late breakfast together. I will make an omelet with veggies, or a stack of protein pancakes, which on most occasions the whole family joins in on, making it a nice social event. Feel free to use the DCCs whenever you feel a craving or a desire to get away from ties of SNAPP. Keep going, it will soon be second nature.

many thanks. Got it, at last! :)
