I have a question regarding L-carnitine liquid and CLA. I want to pack on a few pounds of lean muscle mass and that means I need to increase my carbohydrate intake. I am planning to take carbs 3 hours before workout, then take vitargo (fast acting carb) during and at the end of the workout, then eat carbs again after 45 min - 1 hour of exercise.

I want to use L-carnitine and I know that the best time to use it is on a low carb diet and during fasting but I can't do fasting due to busy work schedule. I am planning to take L-carnitine 3 hours after carbohydrate intake before I hit the gym. How many grams of carbohydrate intake is the maximum amount to take to negate the effect of L-carnitine fat burning process?

How about CLA? Does it work with high carbs or low carbs? Should I take it with carbs or on an empty stomach?

Personally, I would take the L-cartinine first thing when you wake up - as long as this is 30-45 mins before carbs.  If you workout first thing, then I would wait and take it when you have a longer period without carbs.

For building muscle, the carbs you ingest immediatly after your workout and thos that you have within 3 hours after the workout will be more beneficial for muscle building than the carbs before the workout (those will simply serve to allow you to workout longer than a low carb pre workout meal)

CLA and carb consumption should not have much impact on each other.  CLA is a isomer of the essential fatty acid lineolic acid.  You can also get adequate CLA in your diet through egg yolk and grass fed beef or mutton.

"It is, really. What other species even questions what to eat or how much? Where are our instincts? Killed by civilization, or just "in a coma"?"

"Yes, that's nice. You can do your workout whenever and however you like. Just be careful if you workout alone, with no-one to assist you if things get too heavy, you could get hurt. But I guess you know yourself and you limits well by now.…"
