On page 56 of EODD, Jon lists a days worth of his typical SNAPP based meals. On feeding four, he lists 50 grams of chicken breast, cooked. Is that supposed to be 50 grams of protein (about 8 ounces of chicken breast) or literally 50 grams of chicken breast, i.e., less than 2 ounces of chicken breast?

He means 50 gram of protein, more like 6oz of chicken.
I was also wondering about this. Is there a chart somewhere that gives protein grams/weight for foods?
try http://www.nutritiondata.com/ They should list most of the info you need.
It should ....but I can't figure out where in the site you mentioned. sorry to be so dumb but we get counting calories, No one has taught me about converting grams of protein. Is there there a difference between chicken and fish? Does any one have a simple answer?
Jon has a nice 6 page document with the nutritional values of various foods. I printed this out and put it in my binder with all of his diet and exercise books.

Donna, thank you so much for this list. I find it very helpful. I just started the EODD diet yesterday and am still confused about a lot of things and what foods I can eat. This will help. Thanks again.

just type the food you want to know about in the search and it'll give you the nutritional data for it - calories, grams of protein, fat, carbohydrates etc.

The lists on sites like www.fitday.com will give you a breakdown of all types of foods (including the processed and fast foods you do not want!), in calories, protein, carb and fat content.

When you see that you should have X-amount of protein, carbs or fat, it is the content of the foods you need to calculate with, not the weight total.
Thanks for the tip about the search function. I had missed that as well.
